The free consultation includes X-rays and digital scans. Dr. Haykani reviews whether the bite problem looks mainly dental, which braces or aligners may correct, or mainly skeletal, which may call for jaw surgery as part of the plan. You leave with your options, the expected timing for the orthodontic part, the exact orthodontic fee and an insurance estimate.

Planning with your surgeon

Your surgeon performs the surgery.

If surgery is recommended, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon evaluates you and performs the operation. Dr. Haykani coordinates the orthodontic plan with your surgeon, so the teeth are prepared for the new position of the jaws.

Orthodontic treatment usually comes before surgery, to align the teeth for it, and continues afterward to finish the bite. Dr. Haykani sees you at your orthodontic visits throughout.
